Ans. Different people in Marietta’s family wanted to watch different TV programmes like- Marietta’s brother wanted to watch a cricket match, little Susan wanted to watch a programme of songs, mummy wanted to watch news, aunty wanted to watch TV serial, father wanted to watch a football match and Marietta wanted to watch cartoons.

(ii) What did Phali, Nazu and their friends do at the beach?
Ans. They played in sand and water, and then went for a ride on the Giant wheel. After that they ate bhelpuri and bought balloons. In the end they enjoyed some icy cold kulfi.

(iii) Why did Dhondu want to buy a chakki machine? Give two reasons.
Ans. Dhondu wanted to buy a chakki machine because he wanted to do something different and there was no such machine in the village.

What happended when Anil invited all his friends and Akshay too?
Ans. When Anil invited all his friends and Akshay. Anil’s mother gave water to all of them. Anil handed a glass of water to Akshay also but he remembered his grandmother’s words not to eat or drink anything at Anil’s house. So he got confused and did not know what to do.

8- What similar problems do you find after reading the different stories in this chapter?
Ans. There are many problems that are similar to what we see around us like gender discrimination, fights over watching TV, caste discrimination, we also see cases of bad touch in our society and newspapers.

9- Have you ever been stopped by your parents from playing with some kinds of children? What kind of children were they? What reason did your parents give for stopping you? Do you think it was right?
Ans. Yes, we were stopped by our parents from playing with some kinds of children. But that was because those children were bully and use bad language while talking to others. Our parents gave the reason that we will also become like them if we play with them. I think they were right.

10- In Akshay and Anil's story, at the end it is not written whether Akshay drank the glass of water offered by Anil. If your were Anil, what would you have thought about Akshay if he had refused your offered water?
Ans. If I were Anil I would have thought that Akshay still believe in caste system if he had refused my offered water and would not play with him.
